Prepping pavers prior to sealing. The prep is the most important part of the entire paver sealing process. If not prepped correctly, the sealer can have an adverse reaction to the surface. Also, the proper use of sand and the proper type of sand is equally important.
We recommend two-part water based sealers only for pavers and do not recommend using play sand or polymeric sand if living in the Tampa, Florida area. We are not against poly sand in general, it's just not the right option for homeowners in Florida due to our high levels of humidity and almost 60 inches of annual rainfall. Since poly sand is not ideal due to our weather environment, we counter that by using a sealer that locks the sand in place taking the place of polymeric sand without 90% of the issues of poly sand. Admittedly, while not as withstanding as poly sand over time, using our sand mixed with our sealer produces great results overall.
