Can Shellock pavers be sealed the same way as regular concrete pavers? Not necessarily, and knowing what you're working with matters.
This pool deck in the Lake St. Clair neighborhood of Apollo Beach, Florida features Shellock pavers. Premier Pro Wash & Seal was hired to professionally pressure wash, sand and seal the pool deck.
One thing we want homeowners to understand is that different paver materials can require different sealing products and application processes. Shellock pavers shouldn't automatically be approached exactly the same way as a traditional concrete brick paver installation.
For this project, our process included:
Thoroughly pressure washing and preparing the paver surface
Replenishing joint sand where needed
Preparing the deck for sealing
Using the appropriate sealing process for the Shellock pavers
Carefully working around the swimming pool, coping and surrounding areas
Proper paver sealing and restoration isn't just about how the surface looks immediately after the job. Preparation, identifying the material you're working with, choosing an appropriate sealer and applying it correctly all contribute to the finished result.
This Apollo Beach pool deck is a great example of why experience with different types of pavers matters.
Premier Pro Wash & Seal has completed 4,200+ paver sealing projects throughout Tampa Bay and has been serving local homeowners for more than 10 years.
