The goal of the first coat is to begin bringing back the color and protection but also to lock up the sand to harden like a rock to mitigate weeds and sand washout in the future. We use a 12V setup to spray the sealer. We find spraying sealer is the superior choice when it comes to sealing pavers or travertine. The first coat gives us an immediate idea of how porous the pavers are going to be and how much sealer will be needed.
