This is a video showing the difference between sealed vs non sealed pavers, concrete, and pool coping (bullnose). I also included information on sand levels and how our sealer locks the sand in place once it dries. Please note that the sand will return to a light color once it is fully dry.
Sealing pavers and concrete has many advantages such as:
1. Mold and mildew reduction. Sealed pavers and concrete doesn't allow the water and moisture to absorb into the substrates as easy. Instead, sealed pavers and concrete repel the water which is a major factor as for why we see a substantial decrease after sealed properly.
2. Color enhancement. Bring your pavers back to life and keep the color. The sun and rain bleach out the color over time. In this video, I used pavers that had been stored in my garage for years and they still faded out. Now imagine pavers exposed to the rain, rain run off from the roof, sun, traffic, etc etc. It's no wonder why pavers lose their color so quickly. The paver used to enhance in this video was our sealer lightly brushed on with minimal effort and we still got a great enhancement
3. Protection. Sealing pavers or concrete protects from erosion, pitting, uv rays, spills such as oil and grease, and fading. Protected pavers simply last longer giving you the most bang for your buck.
4. Weed mitigation. Nothing is 100% guaranteed but installing the proper sand (very, very important) and then using our sealer that locks that sand in place is huge. Locked sand helps mitigate the weeds from popping through and helps sand loss which contributes to pavers shifting or collapsing over time.
