Not only is the quality of the sand important but so is the depth of the sand. Preferably, the sand should be 1/4 – 1/8" below the chamfer edge. Also, because our sealer hardens the sand in-between, this helps slow down weed growth overall

[0:01] hey guys out here in tampa once again uh the other team is doing a driveway seal so we got two got two teams doing driveway seals today and uh one team just doing pressure washing uh mostly in the riverview area but i thought i'd give you a glimpse of the driveway we've just about finished prepping and we're getting ready to put two or three coats of sealer down so you can see here there's our seal cart just getting things set up and ready
[0:32] the guys are over there getting uh the sealer mixed and starting to put some things up but i'll swing it around here uh we've cleaned this this thing was full of mold lots of tree cover and as you guys know we've received a ton of rain uh this time of the year so things are pretty moldy around here anyway we got this all the mold up all the mildew and so now we just about finished sanding so you
[1:02] got the brooms and and blowers out that's why you see those items out here but anyway we've cleaned it we've just about finished sanding when you're sanding again important your sand quality is important but also the depth of your sand level so ideally these are rounded pavers here so we got to do a little bit of touching up but you can see the sand levels we don't want the sand too high that actually negates some some functions of the paver so
[1:33] there's a level of uh sand that you you're shooting for and ideally you want the sand about an eighth of an inch below the edge here so when you're looking here you want this sand about an eighth of an inch below that edge and you want that throughout now on the pavers the round of pavers um the hardest thing is these corner areas because the sand likes a pile up right there from the uh likes the polyp right there in the corners
[2:03] but that's just part of rounded pavers a little more difficult there's a couple of tricks that we can do um to combat that but you can see for the most part it's uh we got good levels again when you're looking at the sand levels you shouldn't just focus your eyes on sand we see a lot of contractors their sand levels are way too high and that does a couple things wrong it's it's wrong on the interlocking portion of the pavers and it's also it's for draining purposes so there's a
[2:34] reason why you want the sand levels where they're at and then when you take all the purities out of it and the nutrients it just gives you a much better sand quality so anyway over here in tampa just finishing up this driveway prep and we'll be ready to seal soon again check us out on facebook uh check us out on instagram website a pressure washing paper sealing dot com
