Introduction
In the heart of Riverview, Florida, pavers are not just mere blocks adorning our properties. These versatile gems, be it of concrete, stone, or brick, enhance our outdoor spaces, defining the character of our patios, driveways, and walkways. With constant exposure to Florida's elements, it's crucial to ensure they receive the best care. Paver sealing emerges as the hero in this story, promising longevity and enhanced beauty.
Why Pavers Matter
Pavers in Riverview homes are more than just decorative pieces. Their designs, shapes, and patterns reflect a homeowner's personality and style. Beyond aesthetics, they serve practical purposes: from ensuring effective drainage and providing safer, non-slip surfaces to potentially elevating property values owing to their durability.
Decoding Paver Sealing
Paver sealing is more than just a process; it's the shield your pavers wear against external adversaries. This protective procedure involves coating the paver with a specialized sealer, which can range from acrylic to penetrating solutions, each tailored to offer varying protection levels and finishes.
The Advantages of Sealed Pavers
Defense Against Weather: Riverview's climate can be harsh on pavers. Sealing them ensures protection against the relentless sun, preventing fading, and against frequent rains which can erode them. The result? Pavers that retain their color and texture for years.
Warding Off Stains: Sealed pavers laugh in the face of stains. Be it a rogue oil spill, footprints, or those dreaded food stains; sealed pavers resist them, making cleaning a breeze.
Boosted Aesthetics: Sealing can elevate the look of your pavers. The choice of sealer can offer finishes from the glossy, wet-look to a more understated matte, accentuating the paver's inherent beauty.
Durable & Cost-effective: Sealing pavers is like gifting them added years. Not only do they stand firm against wear and tear, but in the long run, they also prove to be cost-effective, minimizing frequent repair or replacement expenses.

[0:01] in this video I want to go over five great reasons why you should have your P sealed we run into a lot of customers that believe it or not they have Pavers at their Homestead and they call us out for an estimate and they have no idea why their P should be sealed so this is very common a lot of people are coming here from somewhere else uh they buy a house they have pavers and they just want to get some direction and advice on how to take care of how to maintain them
[0:32] and whether or not they should have them sealed so in this video let's go over the top five reasons why you should consider having your paper sealed number one is just bringing back the color if you've ever been to uh to a paper deck here in Florida that's at least a few years old it's very common for you to get to that let's say pool deck in the back and what you'll see uh is the pool area that's exposed to the weather it's all faded out and then the area
[1:03] underneath that's covered it's got all of its color dark and riched uh color still left and so there's this big contrast and so that is just a Telltale easy way uh sign of of the damage uh that the Sun and weather can do here in Florida to the bavers over time it completely sucks out all the color so sealing your pavers especially with an enhan or wet look uh option really does a great job of Reviving and bringing
[1:35] back the color that's still in your Stones the next reason is just increasing the lifespan of that Pap it's no doubt that a sealed Pap will last much longer than an unsealed paper just because of the protection that a sealed Pap gives you and that leads us right into one of the other benefits is protection against uh weathering and erosion that's very common particularly like off of a roof line where large amounts of water especially during the
[2:05] rainy season will beat up those pavers directly underneath or we see a lot of times like a screened in Leni where that area just has a constant drip throughout the years and it erodes the pavers underneath so sealing those pavers will help slow down that erosion another thing it'll do is it'll help prevent or eliminate stains so you have have a a vehicle out front that's parked in the driveway a sealed P if you accidentally
[2:36] got an oil leak that sealed Pap is not going to allow that oil or transmission fluid to penetrate that stone like an unsealed paper or if you're out back in a pool deck and you're grilling and you accidentally knock over that drip pan or you're putting suntan lotion all of these things uh are very common they spill onto the pavers they stain them over time and having a sealed Pap will make that stain much easier to clean up
[3:07] or not even stain the paper at all I've got in my pull deck here I've had a couple instances where like I'm talking about where I drip I dropped the the drip pan from my grill and I just wiped it up right afterwards and I have no indication of a stain or a drip there and then the last thing I want to highlight that seing pavers helps with is slowing down weeds and mold while nothing will 100% stop um mold or weeds
[3:39] especially living in the area that we live in where weeds germinate every 21 days combined with 55 in of rainfall a year that's that's impossible to expect to eliminate weeds or mold 100% but if you seal and you put sand in between that that P joint and you use a stabilizing sealer which we use not all sealers come with the stabilizing component in it but the one that we use has a stabilizer in it so that when we
[4:10] do put the sand in between in between and we seal later on it hardens that sand and that's what makes it a little bit more difficult for weeds to poke up or you've got a sealed p and you've you know we're going through a heavy rain season and you got a lot of humidity even if you do have mold that pops up it's typically very superficial it's very easy to clean and wash off versus an unsealed P so that's five good reasons number one enhancement of the color number two increase the lifespan
[4:43] there's many cases where pavers will last 50 100 years as long as they're they're maintained over time protection against erosion was number three number four was prevention of stains and damage and then the last thing probably the most common reason behind wanting to get the color back that customers like is that it helps slow down and mitigate mold and weeds so those are five good reasons why you should consider having your P sealed here in the Florida region
