Paver sealing in the Tampa climate takes a different approach of your choice in sealers versus elsewhere. With our unforgiving weather, choosing the right type of sealer to be applied to your pavers, travertine, or concrete is paramount. Not picking the right type of sealer for your substrate can be detrimental to your wallet if that sealer fails. Get it right the first time and not have to worry.
[0:00] hey guys this is Jeremy with premier pro washing soo and I just want to talk to you a little bit about the importance of the different types of sealers that there are specifically in our Tampa Bay area as you guys know here in Florida we get lots of humidity and we get lots of rain so why is that important it's important because when we go out and we do our quotes we do several quotes a week and what we notice is almost ninety nine out of a hundred times seriously
[0:32] almost every single time that we go out and we look at pavers that have been sealed before and if they'll suit that sealer that's been applied before hand has failed it's almost always a solvent type of sealer versus a water-based sealer and why is that important because if you have a sealer that has failed and you want to rectify that situation you better be ready to bring out your pocketbook because it's gonna cost about three to four times what it would have
[1:04] normally cost just to have it sealed right the first time so the reason I'm saying this is because if you're getting quotes and you get one quote that's significantly less or you got your no disrespect and trust me if you knew me you would understand I don't mean this in a disrespectful way at all but if you've got your handyman or you got a painter or your lawn guy that's still in your pavers you are asking for trouble because what nine times out of ten that
[1:35] they're gonna do and I'm sure that there's a great painter or there's a great handyman or there's a great lawn guy that can seal pavers just as good as anybody but the large percentage of those guys are just going to run down the street and they're gonna get some type of cheap solvent based sealer at your local box store and they're gonna roll that on and it's gonna look just as good as it would have if I put my water based sealer on the first time the problem is over time is that water
[2:07] starts getting trapped and that moisture starts getting trapped underneath that sealer and it causes it to fail and the way you'll know is filled is you'll start seeing this white cloudy looking look on your pavers and you let's say for example you got red pavers that white cloudy looks starts overtaking you can't even really see your red pavers anymore the only way to salvage that is now you've got to have it stripped and most guys around here to strip and seal they're gonna be somewhere between three to five bucks a
[2:38] square foot so it's really really really important that you do it right the first time and what we use is a two-part water-based sealer now there's all different types of water based sealers there's some crappy ones but if you get a water base at least you get a crappy water-based sealer and a lot of times you can work around that it's not as easy to work around a solvent that is is failing or or a crappy solvent so we use
[3:13] a top-of-the-line water-based sealer it's two parts we always recommend a two-part water-based sealer because you're gonna get a lot more longevity out of that sealer you're gonna get a better enhancement and you're just going to be overall more pleased with the outcome versus a water one part water based sealer or any other type of sealer again I can't stress enough to you when you're having guys come out there and give you quotes that you're asking them what type of sealer that they're using
[3:45] and if they say water-based sealer ask them if it's one versus two part water based sealer you want a very good two part water based sealer so that you get again some longevity and durability out of that sealer not something that's just going to look good for six months and then it looks like it's never been sealed before if you would like for us to give you a quote feel free to check out our website at wwlp.com or check out
